T.R.F, in cooperation with IOM, hosts the Director General of Survivors’ Affairs to raise awareness about the Survivors’ Law

Turkmen Rescue Foundation, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), held, in Tal Afar district, on Wednesday a session on raising awareness about the law of survivors, in the presence of Ms. Sarab Elias, Director General of the Survivors’ Affairs Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Dr. Shuaib Ahmed, director of the Foundation branch in Tal Afar , said that the session was held in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the meeting room of the qaimaqam in Tal Afar district, in the presence of Ms. Sarab Elias, Director General of the Survivors’ Affairs Department, with a group of Turkmen survivors and their relatives

Ahmed referred that “the session included providing information for the Turkmen survivors on the Yazidi Survivors Law by giving a lecture in this regard, and providing an opportunity for the survivors to meet and inquire from Ms. Sarab about their legal, social and psychological rights.”

Ahmed confirmed, “Ms. Sarab clarified the provisions of this law to the survivors and groups covered by it, as well as the privileges and rights they take.”

Regarding a survivor’s query about opening an office for the department in Tal Afar, Ahmed clarified, Ms. Elias“ promised the survivors to follow up on the issue and open an office for the department in the future , since the city is one of the areas that includes the largest number of Turkmen survivors who were affected by the terrorist ISIS.”

The session was attended by a group of Turkmen women survivors with their relatives, as well as representatives of community leaders and the local administration of Tal Afar district.
